To all the new Beehivers and the loyal returners, WELCOME to Wednesday Kickball: Summer ’17 Edition! We’re pumped that you’re joining us in the never-ending quest to have fun, meet new people, and play sports. Like ALL of our leagues, Kickball is meant to be FAR less competitive than typical adult leagues. We’re all about the funsies, and we hope you are too.
Please take a minute to read through this email for some important deets about the upcoming league.
WHO: You + Beehive Sport & Social Club + your dad (only if you invite him)
WHEN: Wednesdays starting 7/19 – We are still tweaking the schedule. You will receive a message when it goes live! (probably Friday).
WHERE: Liberty Park – 600 E 900 S (Map Below)
WHY: MEET PEOPLE, HAVE FUN, PLAY SPORTS!
LEAGUE SPONSOR BAR: Twist SLC (32 Exchange Place) with insanely cheap Miller Lite, great food, and a sweet downtown patio.
UNIFORMS: Uniforms will be brought to the individual fields on Wednesday. i.e. If you play on field #2, they’ll be in a white Beehive bag with your team name on it at field #2. Anyone who registers after 8am on 7/19 may receive his/her uniform on Week 2 or 3. ***Beehive uniforms must be worn during the games.
RULES OF THE GAME: EVERY PLAYER must read our KICKBALL RULE PAGE. Reminder that this is 10v10 with at least FOUR females on the field! If you ever have a question, just raise your hand or scream loudly. Like you, our refs are out to have a good time AND officiate the games, which isn’t always an easy task. Arguing with referees or other players will not be tolerated! Just like the rest of Beehive’s leagues, this is a coed league that stresses the importance of FUN and MEETING PEOPLE. Please remember this at all times!
CANCELLATIONS: If something happens that prevents us from playing, an email will be sent to all players and texts to all captains. We try to make weather-related decisions one hour before games start. If you don’t hear from us or your captain, assume that games are on.
SOCIAL MEDIA: We have a crack shot photographer lined-up this season, and tons of pics will be posted. So like us on Facebook, follow us @beehivesport, and tag #beehivesports to prove to your family and co-workers that you “…really do have a bunch of friends!!!” You can also learn more on our website.
FEEDBACK: Beehive SSC is all about three things: MEETING PEOPLE, HAVING FUN, AND PLAYING SPORTS. (Are you picking-up on the vibe?) If you ever witness a fellow ‘hiver operating with total disregard to these three pillars, simply let them know! And if there’s ever anything that we can do better, let us know!!! Our goal is to improve our leagues each and every week. Also, please treat all fields, courts, and gyms with respect. Be mindful that without these venues, we’d have nowhere to play, so leave them in better condition than you found them.
